In line with the successful participation of companies, universities and research centres from Saarland State in the FP7 and to support regional entrepreneurs and researchers also with regard to future EU funding opportunities, the Saarland has started the initiative Route2020. The initiative aims to provide information and advice on the upcoming “Horizon 2020” programme from the very beginning.
The Saarland State Chancellery in cooperation with Eurice and other local innovation actors has officially launched “Route 2020” with a kick-off event, which gathered more than 200 visitors, at the premises of the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems in Saarbrücken on 3 July 2013.
In this context, AbsInt has been invited to present successful projects of the actual funding period, especially the CERTAINTY project. The CERTAINTY's project goals and the internationality of the CERTAINTY consortium have impressed the Saarland's prime minister, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, the state secretary of Germany's Federal Education Office, Dr. Georg Schütte, and the director of the Directorate Industrial Technologies at the European Commission, Herbert von Bose who attended the exhibition and with which AbsInt has had the opportunity to discuss on the CERTAINTY project. At this occasion a poster describing the context and the objectives of the CERTAINTY project was also presented.
